High School Visits

These are part of the PRomoting Educational Progress (PREP) program and entails going into Cegeps and High Schools, to speak to the students about the science field and about our group, providing mentorship, information about available scholarships and University Program admission requirements. These forums also serve as to dispel the misconceptions held by many minority youth with regards to their ability to excel in medical sciences. A typical high school visit team consists of two executive members and two-three volunteers. In addition, visits will be done to community centers, YMCA and Black Star during the summer vocation

Medicine and Allied Health Information Session

This is a seminar style forum where admission personnel, Kaplan personnel (MCAT),and health professionals give information on preparing to enter Medical School, Nursing and related allied health fields. More information (time, venue, invited guests) will be provided as and when appropriate.

Mentorship Week

This is a two-week long program held in the summer that allows youth to shadow a professional in a health-related profession of their choice. This is aimed at giving youth the opportunity to see the day-to day details of their proposed career options so as to motivate, inform and help them in their future career direction and ambitions.
We have a list of health professionals that we allocate to different students as per their request.

Thank you QBMA!

It's a great and wonderful way to help those who are in need. As we all know, the cost of books can be very expensive. This is my way of saying thank you to the QBMA; I am grateful for the help they provided Tiffany in an needful time. Thank you very much once again. Keep up the good work!
